Creation of the General Store

The Hubbard’s General Store began life much the same was as Haskin’s, although the Supply Wagon that Wallace and his wife Marsha drove around the small towns in Northern California was a considerably more professional outfit than Haskin’s early hooch cart.

With the founding of the bar and the increasing through traffic at the Livery Stable, the Hubbard’s found that each time they left the place their wagon was lighted than the time before. Eventually, there was enough demand for a regular source of suppliers – and a place to get a hot meal – that the couple felt safe to invest their savings in the construction of a sprawling General Store, right next door to Haskin’s.
